Now of days, lots of people carry a portable camera with them! They are called iPhones. When I am not able to carry my Nikon Z7 with my 14-24mm 2.8 or 70-200 2.8 lens with me, its what I turn to! In this article I am going to list some of the best iPhone Photography Apps that I use, and you can too!
Camera Apps
Pro Camera. Capture & Edit RAW ($12.99) - This app allows you to control your settings just like you would on an SLR camera. Shutter Speed / Aperture / ISO, as well as different presets built in will give you the right settings for the shots your looking for.
Focos ($3.99/week or $69.99/ year) - This app is great! It will allow you to make changes to your image and add post production bokeh (blur) to an image as well as adjust lighting and other cool effects.
Halide Mark II - Pro Camera (Free trial and subscriptions available) - This App will allow both automatic mode as well as full manual mode, and the ability to control from your Apple Watch! You can also shoot in RAW format.
NightCap - This app is excellent for night photography, it uses a mixture of long exposure settings and AI to adjust for light settings. It also has different presets available for star trails and International Space Station just to name a few.
Polaroid - An app for the old school look of Polaroids! Add the classic white boarder to your image and control different settings like aperture, tripod, double exposure and more!
Apps for Editing
Lightroom / Photoshop Express - Using your account login through Adobe, take the power of the Lightroom and Photoshop on the road with you! This is what I use all day long. Lightroom is the absolute best for fine tuning the colors in your pictures! Photoshop will allow you to get rid of those pesky unwanted things in your image. head over to adobe.com to check out their most recent plans for photography.
SCRL - This is a great app for creating different collage sets for your Facebook or Instagram account. It gives you tons of templates to choose from and is a great quality app.
PS Camera (Not available on all phones) - This app is a fun one to use that gives you different profiles to choose from for color, as well as some fun overlays you add to your images.
Smartist - This app is great! It allows you to show off your artwork, in different forms of what it would look like on a wall, above a couch, in a bedroom setting and tons of other locations! Both annual and monthly plan are available.
Other Apps
Adobe Creative Cloud - This is a great app to have if you have if you have a subscription to Adobe. It allows you to upload files that you need, instal fonts that will sync to your computer, give you walkthroughs on how to do different things and houses the installs for all of their products available on the iPhone. It also has some quick actions to help with white balance, removing backgrounds tones and more.
Google Photos - If you have a Google account, I highly suggest getting Google Photos. It is how I transfer a lot of my main camera pictures to my phone. You can create albums and upload them from your computer, and then with one click, download them to your phone as you need. It also allows you to backup your images from your phone.
Adobe Scan - This is a great tool if you need to scan in a picture or document. It will convert the text of documents for you and you can save it as a PDF file.
Exif - This app allows you to see all of your images Metadata. It will work from a SLR downloaded image or iPhone image. Find out what settings you had used for a particular shot if your looking to capture something similar.
InShot - This is a great app for editing videos, you can add music, transitions, trim the length of a video and also add text frames!
Tiny Planet - This is a fun app to have that makes your pictures into... well a tiny looking planet.
